School of Instituting Otherwise is a space for learning, production and partnership in the arts, culture, media, and education. We organize syllabi, workshops, and conversations in collaboration with cultural practitioners, teachers, academics, journalists, and writers, for the fragile yet enduring practices of knowledge creation are central to memory and history-making, while truth faces relentless assault. School of IO is both a site of preservation and a platform for exchange. We treat memory, cultural production, and documentation as active tools for shaping futures, bridging past and present through study, history-making, and storytelling. Working with communities fighting for liberation, living in exile, or denied spaces of teaching under scholasticide, we activate and reinterpret histories so they continue to speak to the urgencies of our time.
